Create an alternative method for grouping multiselect fields.
A multiselect field can,by definition & design, hold multiple values. When we group on a multiselect field this can produce anomalous results. For example if we have a field with three possible entries A, B and C, a grouped listing can potentially produce eight groups:
blank, A, B, C, AB, AC, BC, ABC.
In this case a record with either A+B+C, A+B, A+C, B+C selected will not appear in any of the individual A,B, or C groups.
However what is often needed is for there to be only four groups (blank,A,B,C) and an entry with A+B+C selected should appear three times, once in each of the A,B,C groups.
This should be an alternative to, not a replacement for, the current way grouping occurs.

Yes! This is exactly what I'm looking for. Right now, this is driving me batty. I have been using the Multiple-Choice List field like a Tag function (for tagging each entry), but because the grouping system is wonky it doesn't actually help me achieve the goal I want, which is to be able to see all things tagged A in a single group (even if some are also tagged A+B or A+C).

This has frustrated me often. Grouping on multi choice list is almost useless for me. Yet it is something that I want to use a lot.

Yes, it's quite useful. like Tag function. we could give a entry several tags. When we view all entries by a certain tag, what we want is to see all entries that "contains" this tag, no matter how many other tags this entry also has.
