.not. operator in Filter
allow the .not. operator or a "not" checkbox to be used in the Filter function so all records except a specific value are selected. For example if I have an inventory with a field for "rack" and when an item is sold the rack value is changed to "sold" (I don't want to delete the record) but I only want to see "unsold" items, I would like to filter on .not. "sold"
for string fields you can use “not contains” option.

I agree with the comments below. The Not Contains and Not Equal To options LuckyDroid described is great for string fields. But we need NOT filters for check box, dates, and all other fields. For example, I designed a packing list database with a Checkbox for Item status. One of the Statuses is "Leave Behind". I would like to look at all my packing list items that NOT being "Left Behind".
Ideally, it would be great to have an expression builder as a filter.

Same for filtering on boolean fields - should be able to filter in either state

Something like
SELECT * FROM db_name WHERE field_name NOT LIKE '%some_string%';
would be very very useful!

Same for the dates:
For example right now there is no easy way to set a filter as "Not today".
