Single choice dropdown
Whenever you create a single choice list, you always get the first choice as an entry. However, there are cases where you don't want to make a choice. I suggest that the way we select choices in single choice lists is build up like multiple choice lists. In these lists you first click on the dropdown menu before you make a choice and if you decide not to make a choice, no entry is entered.

In its current state the "single choice" list is useless in the context of "required" fields. Bill Crews is spot on with his request.

The problem with blank entries is with "required" option, that is useless for now.

Just make the first choice blank, then nothing will be there as a default choice.

Hi guys,
As I've also mentioned on the forum. The problem with blank entries is that it is still recognized as an entry. As soon as you save a new entry you get to see blank values in the card entry.
I believe single choice lists should function like multiple choice lists, where no value is shown if nothing has been selected. You can make decent pdf reports of entries this way without showing fields that don't matter in specific cases.

All you need to do is include a blank entry in your list. This will give you a string of zero length.
I always make this the first (default) entry in a single choice list. -

Is there any downside to just making your first single choice item that could be selected called "None" or just spaces " " ?

Also, if a value is assigned, one needs the ability to clear it to the unsigned state.
